5.    Sectionals at South Jefferson

Email Pat Leone your team roster at the beginning of the season and submit your final

entries ( 10  runners only) for the Sectional Meet by the Wednesday November 2nd, at

10:00pm. Registration for South Jefferson Invitational and the Sectional meet should be

done via www.leonetiming.com.  The course start has been modified to accommodate a

larger race and stone dust will replace the gravel on the road.  The course does not seem

to retain water and 3/8 spikes are recommended. Coaches are welcomed to visit the course

as a courtesy please email Mike or Steve or leave a message with the AD. The AD requests

that you visit during daylight hours, and bring your own medical kit and AED.

10. Future proposals for Sectional Meet Site

A motion was made for practical reasons to accept proposals at the August preseason meeting

so that coaches can view the courses during the season. The committee would be flexible and

accept additional proposals at the post-season meeting.  VVS is interested in hosting for 2006.

      11. Conflicting dates Sectionals and SAT’s

The chairmen presented a proposal to change the day of Sectionals to Friday instead of Saturday.

Our proposal was defeated 54-35.

Since many athletes want to take the test twice before December. Committee members brainstormed

and presented alternative schedules to accommodate more runners to take SAT’s in the Fall. After

the meeting, the chairmen met with Dick Bader from Section III on Sept. 2nd.  He encouraged us to

keep trying. We developed a plan to attend four meetings and to contact various committee members

and use their expertise to help solve the conflict.

12. Other

The All CNY team selection will be based on the top 21 finishers in the Sectionals merge plus

three runners at large. Coaches can petition for runners who could not attend the Sectional

race due to injury or sickness.

Previously the committee voted to use the State meet results.
