The following lists come strictly from last year's cross country performances (no consideration of track performances or other subjective criteria) ... The overall rating for 2006 was determined from the individual ratings shown by the same method used during the course of the season ... The school "grade" of each runner pertains to the coming year ... Runners with no results in my XC database are not included in these pre-season lists (Boys XC performance database). Therefore, these lists simply begin 2007 where XC 2006 left-off ... I realize some runners have shown nice running improvement during track, but that improvement will become evident when the season begins ... In general, last year's performances are a decent method of identifying returning runners that bear watching in 2007. The list reflects various Class changes ... for example: Camden (Class A to Class B), Holland-Patent (Class B to Class C), Cooperstown (Class D to Class C), Westmoreland (Class C to Class D), Cato Meridian (Class C to Class D) Once the season begins, these lists are not used in any way to rank individual runners. Update - I have been informed that Bishop Ludden & Bishop Grimes will be running as combined team this season which changes them to Class B based on combined enrollment numbers ... individual runners below have been changed to the correct class. |

Ethan ran consistently good XC performances all season including an 8th-place finish in a division of the Manhattan Invite ... He ran indoor track into January 2007, but the track database has no results after that time for either indoor or outdoor track (presumably an injury?) |

Nathan McNabb (CNS) ... Nathan's best XC performance came at the Manhattan Invitational (5th-place in the Varsity "D" race) ... he also finished in the top three at four other XC invitationals ... In track, Nathan demonstrated good range from 800m to 3200m ... set a 1600m PR (4:24) |

Scott Garrett (Auburn) ... Scott had very consistent XC performances in the last half of the season ... He did not run track last year (either indoor or outdoor) as far as I know. |

Byran Picciotto (Liverpool) ... Finished the XC season with a nice 10th-place finish in the Junior Race at Footlocker NE ... In track, Bryan ran several 3200m races at or near 10:00 and set a 1600m PR (4:38) |
